Wheatland is home to the nation’s first and largest private irrigation district, which was established in the late 1800s. Wheatland is the gateway to many beautiful sites and steeped in History. Near to two beautiful state parks, Glendo State Park and Guernsey State Park – Wheatland is also home to two state historic sites – the Oregon Trail Ruts and Register Cliff.

Today, development is still championed by Wheatland. Take a walk through historic downtown and enjoy many hometown businesses, and you can “take the curve” and enjoy the many murals throughout the town displaying uniques aspects of Wheatland’s history.
